EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION

Mahatma Gandhi once said, “By education, I mean all round development, drawing out the best in the child man body, mind and spirit”.

Early childhood education has gained momentum in India. With the government launching new schemes for child education in the country, the awareness regarding the same has increased manifold. New educational institutions have cropped up at numerous locations in the country.
The importance of early childhood education cannot be emphasized enough. The government’s initiative has promoted enrollment in academic programs before a child enters the world of formal education. A preschool is an important and first step into education where the focus is more on the child rather than the curriculum. Preschool education lays the foundation for mental, physical, and social development of a child. Since the early years are formative, Preschools play a significant role in a child’s health improvement and early education.

Preschool education in India is largely influenced by the teachings of Marie Montessori, an Italian Physician and educationist who visited India in 1939 to give a lecture in the Theosophical Society in Madras. While in India, Marie Montessori developed her education methodology, commonly known as Montessori education. . She emphasized the need for children to work in a natural environment and accordingly developed study material for kindergarten teaching. Marie Montessori believed that the end of education was independence and that all children should be treated as individuals. Her work was the result of constant trial and error and has been acknowledged and adopted all over the world.

The Nest Group of Schools follows the Montessori methodology. We encourage our students to learn through their natural abilities, at pace best suited to them. They are taught to explore their senses in order to develop reasoning power and imagination. The Nest Preschool, the best preschool in Gurgaon, aspires to help students achieve full potential in all walks of life. For us, teaching is as much a joy, as is, learning. Our vision is to achieve an educational ideal that reminds us of our roots and yet accommodates us in the outside world. The Nest Preschool believes that education does not mean literacy, it means something that can fire up a human being intellectually and spiritually.
